the green book, Week #10

I picked up this book at the local consignment shop, Treasures & More, for $1.00.
The Green Book: The Everyday Guide to Saving the Planet One Simple Step at a Time
I am a passionate recycler, electricity saver, and cheapskate so I will be sharing a few helpful hints from each chapter with my readers that will not only help our environment but rock your inner frugality at the same time!  Check out these top three hints from this chapter below.
Chapter #10- money & finance

The biggest help to our environment using your least amount of effort in the money and finance categories include the following helpful hints:

#1 - If given the option, don't get your receipt to save it from being printed while shopping or using the ATM.  ATM receipts are on of the TOP sources of litter on the ENTIRE PLANET.  Or if you take it, bring it home to recycle it!
#2 - Get your paycheck automatically deposited.  You get your money faster, save gas to the bank, save paper from the checks, save your own time, etc.  WIN WIN.

#3 - Go paperless in your banking.  Get online statements, do online payments and transfers.

Do you have automatic deposit for your paychecks? Do you love it or hate it?
