We are currently trying to use up all of those random things in the freezer a d cupboard and staying away from the store other than milk and bread. Tonight I used up a package of turkey for lettuce wraps.
What you'll need:
-turkey, seasoned to your liking
-romaine hearts
-salsa (I used homemade black bean salsa and guacamole)
Easy peasy! Even got Launa to eat some veggies without complaint! Can't be too bad on the calories too.
A family of four - just livin' the dream.
This blog features a family of four mostly normal people doing very boring everyday things. I love to get good deals & coupon finds & will be sharing them with you as I find. I love to read & will also share some good finds & not so good finds, including FREE books once in awhile. We love to eat & do it with gusto so will let you know of any good or terrible places we find around the country too.

Phoenix Zoo
We spent last weekend's 102 degree day at the zoo. Thankfully they have two splash pads to cool off the babes.

Arizona BBQ fest
We hit up the Arizona BBQ Fest as an anniversary present from my in laws. We arrived a little early so got to see some pig roasting while waiting for the gates to open. Charlie was impressed. Launa was not.
There was quite a crowd all day and it started to heat up so we didn't stay too long. But we still managed to try our fair share of food.
Cheese curds-$3 (times three)
Rib platter -
Chicken screwer-
Mac and cheese grilled cheese add onions and BBQ pork-$8
Shrimp scewer-$8
Snow cones-$3
Beef brisket-
Chicken sample-$2
Vat of bacon (weird non Iowa bacon)
Beer-$4-$6 depending on the booth you chose!
Needless to say it was spendy but glad we went. Oh and the Kids jumping toys were $3 each but so hot the kids were in them for a minute each.
