The Waugh Family has been supporting the Buddy Walk for down syndrome for a number of years and this year I brought both kids! Here was part of our team, minus Grandpa and Launa (who insisted on taking the photo).
The Buddy Walk is in Ankeny and it walks around a one mile pond at the local community college. There were tons of people and the kids walked most of the time without complaint!
After the walk there is lots for the families to do including dancing, free lunch, crafts:

It was a fun time and something I'm glad the kids can be a part of.

Oh what fun!! This reminds me that I still need to sign us up for the one here in a couple weeks...
