Book Review: The Miracle of Mercy Land by River Jordan

I have never before read a book by River Jordan but after reading The Miracle of Mercy Land I am apt to find more by Jordan. The author paints a very vivid picture of a poor backwater girl who moves to the "big city" to work in hopes of escaping poverty that she will be destined for if she stays. Although the center of the book involves a secrete and a concept of a magical book that I personally do not believe would be possible in "real" life, the story itself provided mystery, intrigue, and kept me coming back to read and want more. I found myself in Mercy Land's shoes and having the same questions and concerns even before Jordan brought them up in the book. Overall it was a great story but not one I can give too many details without throwing it away.

The back of the book has a Note to the Reader which sums up the gist of it that I think is helpful: "This is a story about the choices we make and the love and relationships we encounter and embrace along the course of those unfolding destinies. Ultimately the story shows that we never walk an isolated path but that all our stories are woven into one great tapestry of life. We matter to one another, you and I, in the most amazing ways."

I would rate this book as SPECTACULAR. It comes in all forms and can be found on Amazon for a great price (see link and photo below).

**I was not paid for this review. As part of my membership with Waterbrook Publishers I was provided a complimentary copy of the book to provide my thoughts and opinions via blog world. If you're an avid reader, check them out!**

Sounds good! I'll have to check it out. Did you read it on your iPad? Read anything on it yet? How do you like it?

I'm currently reading "Room." Not very far into it but it just grabs you. Kind of intense.
