Book Review: The Map by David Murrow PLUS A GIVEAWAY!

I was asked to read and review this book by Booksneeze.com.

The book started out with a story line to hook you in and give you what I'd call a hook to keep reading.  It is an informational book that gives the authors opinion as to why men are leaving the church.  The story helps to link his line of thinking to a real life story and situation of discovering "the Map" and the truth as to why men are leaving.  I felt that the book rang true and made sense as to the reason men are leaving church after becoming a follower.  However, I disagree that it is just men, I believe women are also bored and do not know why this can be linked only to men.

The author writes the book as if only men should be reading it and I found a few points that he made a bit sexist as he is focusing solely on men and I recall a comment that I actually talked back to the book out loud because I was mad about what he had said (of course I didn't mark this page).

Overall it was a good informational book - not a page turner by any means.  However, I think this book would be best suited towards the clergy and people hosting Bible studies not the common churchgoer.  I believe men know why they've stopped going to church - they are bored.  The elders and such need to read this to find out how to make them come back, or stay in the first place.
